Job Description The Documentation Specialist will execute the research and development of both graphic and written materials supporting the Operation, Maintenance and Training publication requirements of the Company’s Welding and Assembly System customers.   • Set up weld equipment for initial part runs. This includes: equipment verification, equipment calibration, input starting weld parameters, weld coupons, work with robot programmers to ensure correct welds and locations, verify weld quality through destructive measures, make parameter changes as needed based on results from previous, document weld quality, update weld documentation.
  • Verify weld quality through destructive testing including cut and etch for GMA welds and air chisel/nippers for resistance welds. Document results to provide to customer.
  • Verify sealer and mastic for door line projects (included as part of destruct method for weld quality) and recommend any adjustments if needed to robot programmers.
  • Learn new equipment as best as possible in order to succeed in implementation.
  • Provide installation support. Provide support to plant personnel post installation.
  • Maintain spare parts. Support Company divisions for equipment recommendations, internal weld production, and auditing.
Job Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of direct experience and demonstrated capabilities in various welding and joining processes including but not limited to arc welding, resistance welding, laser welding, sealer/adhesive and mechanical joining. Experience in one or more of the following industries is a must – automotive, aerospace, construction and forestry vehicles/equipment manufacturing industries.
  • Leadership abilities in coordinating project requirements among co-workers inside the Company or from engineering contract outsource agencies.
