Virtual Validation – Instrument Panel

New Instrument Panel (IP) design calls for investigations into the head impact and other associated analysis by the OEM. Carrying out these analysis by adopting virtual validation tools and establishing a co-relation with the physical validation results, is gaining importance within the mobility industry.

The client needed to carry out virtual validation of IP design prior to initiating the instrument panel tooling, thereby providing a very stringent timeline for this validation exercise to be conducted by AllyGrow. This was made feasible due to team’s strong technical competence and familiarity with global regulations (FMVSS, ECE etc).


AllyGrow closely worked with the client team to track and prioritize the CAD maturity data to be taken up for the meshing activity to ensure updated meshed models are made available for the analysis activities. Static Stiffness, Quality Feel, Head-Impact, Modal and Thermal analysis were carried out as per guidelines provided by the client and ECE regulations. Also, special analysis was carried out for checking the IP dashboard carrier for Passenger Air Bag (PAB) deployment loading scenarios. As a value add, AllyGrow team coordinated with authorized test agencies to obtain the material properties / material cards(which were not available with the client) required as inputs for the analysis.
